Yesterday, social media was buzzing with viral clips showing the dramatic arrest of musicians Mikie Wine and Dax Vibez.
The two brothers, both affiliated with the Firebase Crew and well-known in Uganda’s entertainment scene, had just wrapped up a performance at the Baba TV Ekitudha event in Jinja when their night took an unexpected turn.
According to eyewitness videos shared widely online, security operatives intercepted the artists around 2 AM, shortly after their show.
Speaking to BBS TV, SP Mubi James, spokesperson for the Kiira Region Police, narrated how the drama unfolded.
After their performance, the duo made a brief stop at Shell Ambercourt, a known hangout spot in Jinja, en route back to Kampala.

It was there that an argument broke out between the artists and a resident identified as Ibra Hussein.
The cause of the confrontation remains unclear, but the situation escalated to the point where all parties agreed to drive to the Central Police Station in Jinja (CPS Jinja) in an attempt to peacefully resolve the matter.
By morning, Mikie Wine and Ibra Hussein were released on police bond, while Dax Vibez remained in custody pending investigations. The situation drew sharp reactions online, with fans expressing concern, disappointment, and even conspiracy theories.
Later that evening, Dax Vibez was finally released, taking to his social media platforms to announce that he had “reclaimed his freedom”, thanking fans for their support
