Solomon Kampala Kyagulanyi, the firstborn son of musician-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), has officially popped the question to his American girlfriend, **Helen Jacquez.

The young couple’s engagement became public after Solomon shared photos on his Instagram stories showing Helen proudly wearing a beautiful ring. The two were all smiles, toasting drinks in celebration of the special moment.

Solomon Kampala and his Mother

Although Solomon and Helen have been dating for some time, they have kept their relationship mostly out of the public spotlight. The first real hint came only a few days ago when Helen posted a heartfelt birthday message for Solomon’s 20th birthday, wishing him happiness and many more years together.

Solomon, who moved to the United States a few years ago for education and sports, has largely kept a low profile despite being the son of one of Uganda’s most famous figures. Interestingly, his parents were also in the US during his birthday celebrations, but it’s not clear if they knew in advance about his engagement plans.

The news has stirred mixed reactions—many have congratulated the young couple for taking a big step forward, while others feel that Solomon is still very young and should take more time before committing to marriage. They feel that he’s grown up just yesterday since he’s been in the public domain most of his life, courtesy of his father.

Regardless of the differing opinions, the engagement marks a new chapter in Solomon’s life, and many will be watching to see how the couple’s journey unfolds.
