The CAF Disciplinary Board has ruled on a string of breaches during the ongoing TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024, with Zambia, Kenya and Morocco all hit with fines.

Zambia
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has been fined USD 5,000 after failing to present their head coach at the mandatory pre-match press conference ahead of their opening game against DR Congo. CAF’s rules are clear, coaches must attend these briefings, and Zambia’s no-show came at a cost.

Kenya
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has been fined USD 50,000 for multiple safety and security lapses during their clash with Morocco at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. CAF warned that if these issues persist, Kenya could see their home matches moved elsewhere. The federation has been told to boost security, deploy more personnel inside the stadium, and enforce road closures on match days.

Morocco
The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) has been fined USD 5,000 for the inappropriate conduct of its players in the same game against Kenya. Half of that fine, USD 2,500, is suspended provided there is no repeat of the offence during the rest of the tournament.

All fines must be paid within 60 days. At CHAN 2024, it is not just goals that count, discipline does too.
