The Uganda Electoral Commission (EC) has urged the Presidential aspirants who will take long to return their nomination forms ahead of the 2026 general elections may affect their chances of contesting.
According to the EC chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama, about 200 people who showed interest in the nomination process collected the forms, and among those, only 30 have returned the forms, with several flagged for irregularities.
“We have received forms where minors signed as nominators, and in other cases, there was confusion with constituencies,” Byabakama said.
“Those who delay will only have themselves to blame because the nomination deadline is next week.”
