Mukono Municipality MP Hon. Betty Nambooze has expressed strong disapproval over the DNA tests recently conducted on the children of the late Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya.
Her remarks come after it was revealed that only four out of nine children tested were biologically linked to the late legislator.
Speaking out, Hon. Nambooze urged those responsible for managing Ssegirinya’s affairs to respect his Islamic faith, which she argues does not recognize DNA testing as a valid means for determining paternity.
If you claim the children are not of the late Ssegirinya, then you must tell us who their father is.
Unless another man comes up and says Ssegirinya took their wife, we can listen to that. But I request the responsible people to handle the matters as the late’s religion says – no DNA.
The DNA tests were reportedly initiated by Ssegirinya’s personal assistant, Alex Lusswa Luwemba, in an effort to confirm paternity amid inheritance and estate management discussions following the MP’s passing.
