Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi Among UCU’s 26th Graduation Class

The Uganda Christian University (UCC) has held its  26th graduation ceremony today 4th July 2025. Among those who have graduated today are the former NTV news anchor Joel Besekezi Ssenyonyi, who is now the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

Joel Besekezi Ssenyonyi posted on X saying “Thanking God for yet another academic qualification attained today, a Master’s in Organisational Leadership and Management from Uganda Christian University (UCU).”

“My thesis was titled: Perspectives on Corruption, and Addressing Its Effect on Service Delivery: The Case of Banda Parish in Nakawa West Constituency.”

Joel Ssenyonyi, is Nakawa West member of Parliament, holds a degree in Business Statistics from Makerere University. He also studied journalism and started working for UBC and NTV Uganda. From there, he joined politics, where he was appointed spokesperson for the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Joel Ssenyonyi was born on December 20, 1986, he is a Muruuli by tribe and grew up in Kyengera, a Kampala city suburb.

He went to Trinity Academy Primary School Bukoto for his Primary Seven, and at St Lawrence Citizen High School for his O and A Levels.
