Museveni To Address NRM Delegates At Kololo As Party Elects League Leaders

The ruling NRM party has today gone into elections for its special interest groups ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The national elective conference to be held at Kololo independence grounds will see the ruling party elect leaders for its women league, persons with disability, elderly, youths, workers league, entrepreneurs league, diaspora league, historical and the veterans league.

The NRM secretary general, Richard Todwong  said the delegates to attend today’s conference include the top party leadership of the  national chairperson, vice chairpersons, regional leaders from all six regions, NRM Members of Parliament, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) representatives, party flag bearers, and district chairpersons.

Other delegates include members of the NRM’s diaspora branches, historical leaders forum, executive committees of special organs such as the Women’s League, Youth League, Workers League, Elders League, PWDs League, Entrepreneurs League, and the NRM/A Veterans League. Also invited are chairpersons of NRM district conferences, city and municipal division leaders, sub-county and town council representatives, as well as up to 20 individuals handpicked by the party national chairman as observers.

President Museveni is expected to grace the ceremony and will also give a keynote address as the party supporters gather ahead of the 2026 general elections.
