Rajiv Ruparelia Dies in Tragic Accident

Sudhir Ruparelia’s son Rajiv Ruparelia died in an accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 3, 2025.

At 1:54 AM, a fatal crash involving a Nissan GTR, registration number UAT 638L, claimed one life, confirmed to be Rajiv Ruparelia.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling from Kajjansi towards Munyonyo. It lost control near the roundabout section of the flyover at Busabala Flyover in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.

Preliminary investigations suggest the car collided with temporary pavements installed at the site before overturning and bursting into flames.

The sole occupant and driver, Sudhir Ruparelia’s son Rajiv Ruparelia, died instantly at the scene due to the severity of the crash.

Authorities have yet to determine the accident’s cause; investigations are ongoing to establish the facts.

Police urge the public to await official updates as more information is gathered during the investigation. SP Kananura Michael of the Traffic & Road Safety Directorate extended condolences to Mr. Ruparelia’s family and friends.

The tragic incident underscores the importance of road safety, particularly around construction and temporary traffic installations. More details will be shared as investigations progress and findings are available to the public.
